trx-4 is available on 4x4 models and it gives you red painted shocks and the decal. The trx-4 off road group gives you tow hooks, t-case skid plate, front suspension skid plate, anti spin differential, and fog lamps. The LT275 OWL tire is available with the optional 3.92 rear axle. The trx is only on 4x2 models and gives you aluminum wheels, 265 OWL on/off road tires and the decal. All trx groups are only available on short box models. The trx's replaced the off-road group.

Tractions control on all four wheels? I'm just guessing but that's what the abbreviations look like to me. That's a good thing in snow, but a bad thing for racing. You better hope you have a traction control off switch when you want to pound away at the rice-boys that pull up beside you! :P

Dodge offers their trucks with option packages.

The TRX is on road version; the TRX4 is the off-road package of the TRX options. I ask what TRX means I was told ("TRUCKS = TRX ") Just a trim and options package.

means you paid more for the sticker to be on the truck.
