Will this engine setup work? 1994 Dodge Spirit & a Mitsubishi 6G72 Engine. Please Help Out Mechanics!?

Thank you all for any input! I was going to ask this question a few days ago but I decided to do a little research on my own first. Well I still haven't found a straight answer so Im going to need your help.

I have a 1994 Dodge Spirit with a 2.5L K I4 Engine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_Spirit#Engines

I really like the look of the car but the base 100HP sucks it's really slow.

I am wondering if any 6G72 SOHC engine will work for the car or if I need one out of a specific Year/Model of car?

Here is the 6G Engine Info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_6G_engine

With this engine it could be very easily be a sleeper & smoke the half tuners around here.

My main question lies more along the lines of what transmission to use? Here is a link I found for a tranny: http://shop.automotix.com/automatic_transmissions/dodge-search.html?model=spirit&year=1994

Site for the engine: http://shop.automotix.com/rebuilt_engines/dodge-search.html?model=spirit&year=1994

don't worrk about dude up there he's just mad because his "real car" tops out at 100 or something. there's no point in doing that engine swap. swap out one weak setup for another setup. unless you get the 6g from the 01-04 Eclipse or Stratus R/T. for all the price of swaping out and tuning the new setup you should just sell the car. Plus the 4g64 responds better from tuning than the 6g does anywho. if you really are thinking about doing that swap check out www.club3g.com

some thing is extremely incorrect with this scene. Even the former 2.6 mitsu engine didnt have that undesirable a attractiveness for knocking and it had a strategies worse issues than the three.0 ever did. i'd do somewhat very huge checking, for some thing is going on or maybe has no longer got here about (has the engine truly be swapped or in common terms rebuilt?)

lol both are sissy cars you can put any engine you want into any thing you want. you only have to do mods to mounts for the engine and tranny. if you cant figure that out then you shouldn't be working on cars. I'm not trying to be a *** but kids need to get into American muscle cars. stop putting the rear spoilers on little cars and those big pipes. try a old dodge pickup with a hemi duals 4 on the floor.i enjoy showing the so called street racers how much rubber i can throw right on the windshields.as in dusting them in my 68 mustang
