Is a Dodge Dakota comfortable for a 6' 2'' driver?

I can't decide if I want a Dodge Dakota or Dodge Ram. I don't care about mileage at all, I just want to be comfortable. Car makers these days are making vehicles that I can't even sit in without kinking my head sideways!!! (I'm only 6' 2''). I currently have a Ford Ranger and my head doesn't touch the ceiling only because it has a different seat in it (I hate slouching when I drive, I sit as straight as possible). I can't even see my dash instruments because the steering wheel is covering it up so I have to slouch down to see my speedometer and I have to slouch down to see around my rear-view mirror. If reliability wasn't an issue I would just get an old truck from the 70's with tall bench seats and the huge steering wheel!!
Any tall drivers have any experience with Dodge Dakota's?

I am 6'2" and have owned Dakotas and Rams. I was comfortable in Dakotas built before 2005. The newest style Dakotas made me feel like I had to crouch to see under the top of the windshield. It also felt like the rear view mirror was blocking too much of my vision. Now I have a 1996 Ram 1500 with a 5.9 engine and it is very comfortable for me to drive. The fuel mileage is better than my 1989 Dakota and the same as my 1997 Dakota with 3.9 engines.

Trucks are usually made for men so they will comfortably fit someone around average height

I owned three Dakotas (two club cabs and one 4-door) over the years and was always comfortable while driving them. They are not quite as wide as the full-size RAM, but I always had plenty of leg and head room. The crew cab had plenty of space for four or five adults.

Also, the gas mileage with the V-8 engine and 4x4 was not that much better than the full-size pickups.

I'm 6-1 in shoes and weigh a bit over 200 lbs, have no problem being comfortable with my old '92 Dakota LE extended cab, my wife's old and my new '97 Dakota SLT extended cab and her/our "new" '04 Quad Cab SLT, all are 4x4's and all have tilt wheels. I often wear a "baseball/feed store" cap during the summer months and my head does not touch the roof but is close, I have no difficulty entering or exiting any of the trucks and I'm 60+ years old.

I like to drive with my arms extended and tilt the driver's seat back a notch or two to do so, drives my wife crazy, my 5-6 wife likes to drive with the seatback upright, drives me crazy, but we're still married after almost 34 years.

I have a dakota, i' 5'9". My head doesn't quite touch the ceiling but nearly. Why don't you test drive some models? I just drove a v8 ram 1500 4X4 quad cab. It was like driving a livingroom! Yesterday I drove an 07 dakota extended cab and it seemed smaller than the dakota I have now. Then I drove a dakota quad cab. That was better. If I can find one of those w/ v6 4X4 I'll buy it.
