I've seen both the Caravan and Grand Caravan, and they both look the same. Do the engines differ?

The Dodge Grand Caravan can carry 8 feet ply board or lumber in the back. The Dodge Caravan can carry only 6 feet stuff. This holds true for all the minivans that Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth build. The grand on any of them means it is longer. This has to be taken into consideration when replacing the fuel filter which has some of the line with it. The Grand comes with a different filter assembly because the connecting fuel lines are longer to compensate for the extra length. All three van lines are built with the same platform except for length. The trim is what makes them either a Town and Country, Caravan, or Voyager, The Grand just makes them longer.

Grand means big.
On older models the Caravan was a shorter wheel base than the Grand Caravan.
Caravan, since it was smaller, has either the 4 cylinder engine or the smaller 3.3L V6 engine.
2007 was the last year for 2 different wheelbases.
Starting in 2008 there is only the Grand Caravan

Grand Caravan is the luxury model and will have more amenities. Usually a lot nicer on the inside. The engine is most likely the same but may be bigger in the grand caravan.

The Grand Caravan is longer and always comes with a V6 standard.
