I have an 02 dodge ram 1500 SLT 2wd with a 5.9L. How can I tell if the posi trac option was added by the original buyer. There are many other options that were added, like tow package, and fully loaded interior, but how can I be sure?

the quickest way is to take and get it on a soft surface and give it enough gas to see if it will spin both tires,either that or take the vin number and call a dealer and have them give you the option package it came with ,either way will work,if you can find the option sticker look on it,it may also tell you what he ordered with it or not,good luck.

Get the VIN and take to dealer.
Posi can be tested by at burn out. If posi both will spin, if not, one tire will spin.

jack the back of the truck up in the air and spin the tire,if both tires spin in the same direction it's a posi.If they spin opposite then it's not...
