I'm getting the throttle position sensor replaced in my '98 Dodge Durango, and I need to know if there's any way to tell whether the engine is a 5.2l or 5.9l? Is there an easy way to tell the difference between the two?

Identification is not a rushed priority for the repair. The 5.2 and 5.9 use the same TPS. To identify your engine, check the 8th digit of the truck's serial number off the dash or door sticker. If the 8th digit is a "Y" , it's the 5.2. If it's a "Z", a 5.9. If it's a "5" it's the 5.9 heavy duty.

On the front of the vehicle on the radiator support under the hood there is a sticker with a lot of info, you will either see 5.2 or 5.9 on it somewhere.

Should say on the plastic engine cover when you open the hood
