Question:
Why are my dashboard lights and taillights out on my 2000 Plymouth Neon?

I own a 2000 plymouth neon and recently the dash lights went out (speedometer, gas, etc.). Then yesterday both tail light went out, the brake and turn signals still work its just the running lights. I replaced both tail bulbs and checked all the fuses(they all seemed fine) what else could it be? Is there something behind the dashboard I should check?

check the "instrument panel light control switch" (located in the dash) or the " multi function swich" (located in the steering column. I'd guess its the multi function switch. Not too difficult to change out. Buy the Haynes repair manual and you should figure out the problem really quick and give you step by step instructions how to do the job. Good luck.

Dash lights and taillights are on the same circuit. Check the headlight switch.(which turns on the tails and dash lights)

the engine gentle doesnt have something factor to do with changing fluids, take it to autozone and get the codes pulled that supply you a concept of what's faulty. you could attempt to reset it via unhooking the battery for extra or less quarter-hour. yet whilst it remains malfunctioning it is going to come returned on, the only thank you to get it off is to restoration the situation. it must be anthing from spark plugs to the gas cap. no count if it is working ok you in all probability have cracked hoses or a foul sensor

i know exactly what this is..

bad ground

get someone who knows how to use a voltmeter and get them to check it out for you.

or take it to a repair shop..

if you know how, take the dash apart for them before hand so they can easily get in there and start testing. this will make it alot easier at a shop because they will charge you labor to take the dash off

theyll appreciate it.

Bad ground.. Shorted out wire.. Battery may be unhooked? The knob to control how dim it is may be turned off

Is there a dimmer switch? Try twisting it in the correct direction
