Just go with the Avenger R/T with the 3.5 235HP engine. The 3.5 engine is solid.

The dodge is a more practical way to go, and also, the avenger comes in a 230 hp 3.5 liter version which gives you all that power you need, but costing a bit more. The eclipse has the lines and beauty of a true sports car, and the engine would last you much more, definitively go with that, i can't tell you how much our family has had with our dodges. They honestly just keep falling apart until you send it to the junk yard. The 2.4 liter is the same motor they put in the stratus. The 2.7 liter that they put in the charger, Stratus, and Intrepid have been recalled several times for having several different issues but mostly engine sludge build up after 50,000 miles or so

As for reliability wise i would go with the Mitsubishi than the Dodge. Both the engine to the parts used for the interior is much much better than the Dodge.

buy the mitsubishi eclipse.the dodge will have trasmission problems and the eclipse is better in everything and will last you alot longer.
